Location Fields & Community ADs Targeting Issue

Im a little confused with this ..and any help would be appreciated.

I have done multiple tests to figure this out - with no avail.attached images.

    Its a 2 fold Issue.

    -The Profile Field Qtn "Location"

-Edit User's Profile "Edit Location" (This is connected to Google API and helps with the searches)

These two are not synced up or related  . They are separate Locations.

That messes things up with searches by location etc and confuses the user.

    2) Community ADs Targeting uses the Location from the  Profile Qtn Field Location field. Not the real google API one.

-This will give advertisers the wrong ad targeting info for the users.

    - The Search of the location does not work (seperate by commas ). tried many different patterns.

Please feel free to ask any questions to clear up this issue.

    Thanks All:

    Hi Donna,Gs

Thanks , But Is  this all a 3DP topic?

    Isn't Profiles an SE feature?

Community ADs is an SEAO plugin.

Please correct me If im wrong.

An update- They have been super responsive in working on this issue and am happy to see them

    pro actively helping out:)

If you want a separate topic for profiles yes, you can add one but this has third party issues in it and I believe it all relates as I have no "Edit Location" tab here or on the demo unless I missed it so that looks like a third party plugin. So I'm confused as to what is default SE here and what the issue is with default SE.

    I'm as confused as you:)

    There were 2 separate issues

    1) Profile Locations / Edit location Sync Issue - whos domain is this? Who should issues regarding this be addressed to.

    2) The second part I know - SEAO Community Ads- which they have kindly helped resolve.

Please post that issue 1 in a new thread and please detail it more. It sounds like a third party plugin as I don't know anything in default SE that says "Sync" and I don't know what location you are editing as your screenshot shows a button that is not in the default script unless I missed a setting someplace which is possible.

Just checked the tutorial for profile questions and that Edit Location button isn't showing in that tutorial either. Perhaps you have some advanced user plugin?

ok . let me try to just explain Issue 1 The best That I can.

Below, are the 2 "Location" fields Im talking about.

These two 'Location" fields are not synchronized or matched up.(synched up)

They save different values and can confuse a user.

Logged In Admin - This Location field does not works with google api.
Profile > Add Question > Question Type > "Location" Field

Logged In User - This Location field works with google api
    Edit "Location"
