I am not sure if my paid support that I signed up for is done or not but I thought everyone should not this issue. All the world is saying that the MariaDB and Mysql are interchangeable but you will not support the software if it's on MariaDB. Is that right?
This is already known. There are threads addressing this, including a feature request. They are not interchangeable. MariaDB is a fork of Mysql. We do not support it as the other threads show. The feature request is in the feature request area but at this time we have not accepted it as we prefer to work within the main rather than a fork.
More details on fork https://help.github.com/en/enterprise/2.13/user/articles/fork-a-repo we can't support forks as there can be too many and too many changes to keep up with if we had to keep up with every fork of a repo.
This is MariaDB https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MariaDB and shows it is not the same as it is a fork of Mysql with its own changes, improvements, etc.
That being said, we will improve things in the future.
