Newby Here :) I a, the 14 day free trial. Although I initially like the entire concept it is mostly simple. Quick and easy setup.. until you want to put ads in... No obvious place for them.... I have looked for A day and a half. Secondly, There are many out here that would use this service is it were not partial coding. I have mostly built a site I might use but ran into a massive snag trying to learn code options. I am stuck between using the sight, and not using it because of coding issues I don't know about. I cannot afford to pay someone to do it until I get ads, and cannot ad those without code.. Big circle :) It really should be a bit easier for the service your trying to sell. No offense intended

The cloud product is built to be a Reddit or Twitter clone sort of environment that is easy to set up for normal operations. There are a lot of tutorials:

    Table of contents: https://support.socialengine.com/cloud?_ga=2.208853908.705776724.1509706686-706914259.1509706686

If you need a more robust ad system, you'll want SEPHP instead.

SEPHP is our other product. It's a full featured social network system. You can buy the full version or buy the essential and then get the other plugins you need separately if you wanted to. You would use your own hosting which you can get from TMD or I know of other hosting if you don't like TMD. https://www.socialengine.com/support/hosting-providers

So my question with this is. If I use this cloud, and it grows a lot and want to switch does it integrate well? Would it interrupt the flow in this case. Are you going to be adding to the cloud soon/later? Would all those features be added to cloud for a larger cost?

Sorry another question. I noticed there is e-mail on cloud for people signing up. Is there an e-mail I can ad for admin or whatever..

They are separate products. We don't have an import script to go from SE Cloud to SE PHP. You can export users from SE Cloud though. However, the content isn't exported.

We have plans for cloud and we'll have to make a post about that as soon as we have details.

I'm not clear on what you are asking. If you mean can you change a user from general user to Admin user, yes you can do that in the member management. We have a lot of tutorials at the link I provided earlier. :)

O.K. So My Dad always said don't buy the first car you look at surprised well he was wrong with this service. I can assure you I have tried on EVery platform I can try that doesn't cost thousands of dollars. This seems to be the best service for what I am looking for. My only hang-up at this point is the apps I need to complete the desired effect on cloud that are/were not there. (So you going to ask me which apps I am looking for) The uttermost main one right away is something I can sell "ads" where a customer can come in create an add the way they want, and post it too the site. I have a client base setup with many more willing to come if I can achieve this here. What are the chances anytime soon? The other App I need is a planner/calendar That my clients can post when and where they will be. Preferable something interactive by many BUT one person cannot change another's information etc. (for obvious reasons) I can make ALL other features work if I have those two. At least the first one for now laughing. Thanks Eric

How soon is soon? We are looking at what we can do for cloud in 2018. We do need improvements. I can't promise you will get what you want as I don't see these two things in feature requests (posted per our stickied post for how to post a feature request). Perhaps I missed them.

Well Projected release date was Jan 15  laughing     ... And yes I understand that is too soon on your end. But if I can get what I need in near future I can proceed as it is. This is why I am asking.

I am still mulling around what to do. Where to settle.

I really want to use this but there are other programs

Have you tried our SE PHP version? Hosting can be fairly inexpensive (don't go for shared). It has a lot of features now and it might suit you better if you need something sooner.

Yeah, I have looked at it. So here is the thing.

Cost, I am designing this as a request for someone.

Not going to sink 500-1000 into something up front unless it is exactly what I need. That, I won't know unless I can see/use it in full form, and cannot do that in php. I want to settle on the right platform for the long haul.

I cannot find a list of apps used with php on main site.

I am looking to build something, and it pay for itself.

Have the people ready to go just need to settle on platform. Looking to start somewhere, and let it grow itself.

SEPHP has a free 30 day trial and includes all of the features. https://www.socialengine.com/products/php that lists all of the plugins available with the SocialEngine script. You can buy the Essential and just buy the plugins you need as well (if you don't need everything in the Advanced).

The 30 day trial gives you the opportunity to try all of it, on your own hosting. TMD has some hosting here, https://www.socialengine.com/support/hosting-providers starting at only $3.85 per month. So for about $4 USD, you can try the full version for the 30 days and even let the people on it that may be interested in the site, to get their feedback.

I have already used the 14 day on cloud. I can use this without penalty?

Yes you can use both trials. I believe TMD installs it free and has a 60 day money back guarantee. You just need to have an active  SE PHP trial first and give them the info they need when you set up hosting with them, if you use them.

So you first get the SE PHP trial and then ask them to install it free. I don't use TMD hosting so I am not sure how their account creation goes but I'm sure someone there can help via the link I posted.

You're not bothering me. You'll find a lot of help here (our kb is complete, our community is becoming more active, our support) and we don't mind questions. I've tried about every social script as I have my own sites too. One is already on SE. The other will be moving once I decide what to do about articles as I have an articles system on it in addition to blogs. I'm waiting for the third party articles system here to be put in the certified market and then I'll make the move for that site once I buy that.
