AdvancedActivity Vimeo Link Preview Inconsistency

    Hello

    I am not sure if I am posting this topic in the correct place so please feel free to move it. 

    We're currently experiencing differences when posting vimeo links to the mail activity feed.

    When inserting https://vimeo.com/325044979 an empty form popup for the Link is shown (when inserted again and posted afterwards it shows a static preview), whereas inserting https://vimeo.com/samanthamoore/bloomers instantaneously results in a preview with video.

    I assume this has to do with Advancedactivity_LinkController, where \Advancedactivity_LinkController::previewAction is called when inserting the Link https://vimeo.com/samanthamoore/bloomers whereas the frontend calls "/video/index/compose-upload/format/json/c_type/wall" (link with the video id).

    My suggestion would be to use the same functionality here no matter which Link of Vimeo is posted.

    Youtube Links also trigger the instant video preview window (but with static preview image).

    Since advanced activity is a third party product, I've moved this to the proper section. You will want to contact that developer for a fix though.

    Hey Donna, sadly i couldn't find a specific person/company to contact so i posted the feature request using the contact form over at https://socialapps.tech/contact mentioning the module, is this correct?

    Since it seems a bug, you should contact their support and let them know of this thread so they can fix the bug. This way you don't pay for a bug fix.But you do have an older version so it may be something that is already fixed in a more recent version. i am not sure.

    We have had a look at the above reported issue and would like to help you out with the same. 
     
    - We have checked on the staging setup we have at our end, both the links (one with the video ID and one without the ID) worked fine via Add Link. We have tested with the latest version of the SocialEngineAddOns Core & Advanced Activity Feeds / Wall Plugin (attached screenshot)

    Upgrade the plugins to their latest version.
