    Hej SocialEngine Team,

    there is a bug, when positing a URL with a special char (like the "ü"). If we change the URL to "ue" it works fine. This 3. case is currently our fallback solution. but would be nice if this would be fixed.

    Hi and thanks for posting. Please see our stickied posting guidelines and next time please copy and paste and fill in all details required.

    Do you have a sample url I can test with? If it's to your site, feel free to PM it to me if you prefer not to post it or if it's adult in nature as we don't allow adult links in the open forum.

    Please also make sure you are testing with 4.9.4p1.

    Welcome to the community, Sebastian Freytag!

    URLs can only have unicode text input based on latin letters. I don't think this can be changed directly. Letters A-Z numbers 0-9 only. No punctuation or spaces are allowed for URL input.

    Thank you for explaining that Elshara. I hadn't realized that. So then this isn't a bug? I can double check with our team.

    Your so right. the "ü" is not supported as part of the URI standard.

    But version #1 with %in the URI should be supported.

    Is there any way I can get a URL to test with? If you don't want to post one here, please PM me with one. Thank you!

    Hej Donna,

    sorry for replying that late. It works with every selfcreated url that contains a specialchar e.g.:

    http://example.com/demoüxx => http://example.com/demo%C3%BCxx

    I'll have to find a way to test this.

    Hej Donna,

    just post the first sample URL with the ü in events / groups as a reply to an existing post or as a new post.

     Doing that, I can see it works fine for url grabbing if sharing as an actual link. In comments, the parser is stopping the rest of the link from working I think. I'll add this to our list for improvements for after 4.10.
