There is no "new topic notification" on the Forums?

Or am I missing something? There is for posts and replys. A "Topics or Posts since last visit" option would great!

No there isn't. There is a notification if you subscribe to a topic though. There is a widget for new topics though. We use it.

You'll find it in your layout editor. It is a default widget.

You're welcome! This is the page I made http://community.socialengine.com/pages/seforumupdates which gives a good run down of threads and posts for users. The screenshot above shows how I configured it if you want to make the same sort of thing for your site.

Pity its not specifically, only new topics (unread) rather than a recent topics. :/

That would be the same thing. As topics are created new and are also recent. Your request is for new topics. The feature is a new topics. Recent topics are new topics. That is why there is also a New Posts widget. To show new posts as opposed to new topics.

Yes I realise that. But an "unread topics" a "Posts since last visit" is what its usually called, notification would be better. Is there a widget for that?

You'll need to find a third party product if you want notifications of that. It would be very heavy and not beneficial to add to the script due to the weight in server resources it would consume.
