Hello,
I just upgraded to SE4.10 and everything seems to have gone smooth. Last night I noticed that entering a comment in the activity feed on my phone is broken (letters double up, backspace seems to duplicate text, etc.) On the desktop it looks and works fine. I don't have the mobile extension enabled instead I use the Zephyr Theme from Pixy Themes for a responsive design.
Anyone else seeing this? Where would I find the php code that handles comment entry? Could this be due to the new hash tag and mention enhancements? Is there a way to turn these off so I can see if that's the issue?
Thanks,
You will need an update for your theme if not using the default stuff. Please test at our demo to see if you have the same issue. If so, please let us know the os, phone, browser etc. Please see our stickied thread in this section for posting bugs next time and please include all required info.
Noting that we tested with iPhone with firefox, chrome and safari with no issues from our end.
Please see this tutorial for how to enable and disable hashtags and smileys. Noting that your theme will need updates to work with the new activity feed changes which are in the change log.
Thanks for the details. Do you know which file renders the comment entry box? Maybe I can debug the issue myself.
It is not just the comment entry. We changed how the post are entered and it's a bigger fix for themes. If you check the changelog that was attached to the blog, it should be just the files that relate to activity feed and hashtags. That should get it for you but for Atlas it was a more complicated fix we had to do. If your theme isn't responsive, it shouldn't be too bad.
I guess I learned a lesson. I should have waited for all 3rd party components and themes to be updated first.
Thanks for your help.
I'm sorry you are having this issue. I hope the expert will update it since they've all had this for several months now.
Hi, I am new to SocialEngine. I am trying it out and like everything I see so far with just a couple issues. First off, I am having this exact problem. I am using the Insignia Black theme that came with the demo. It appears to be doing it on Android devices in Chrome and Facebook's built-in browser (which may be Chrome based, not sure). It seems to work ok on the same device in Samsung's Browser app. This is inconvenient to my users who are trying it out before I decided to buy or not, and they're losing interest. I was wondering if a fix has been found.
Running SocialEngine 4.10.0
Mobile plugin disabled (although when it was enabled the same problem was noted)
Problem confirmed on my personal Samsung S8 with other members using unknown Android devices.
I ended up buying the Advanced Activity Feed plugin from SocialEngineAddons. That solved the problem for me.
