How can I change the activity to set the members of "Default Level" group to see only friends feed but for Admins can see all the feeds? I played around on "Activity Feed Settings" and set the "Feed Content" to "My Friends and Networks" but it seems Admin group can't see all the feeds. Please advice.

    Thanks

I use a 3PD Advanced Activity Feed for many reasons - one of which is what you're trying to accomplish.  What I use by SEAO (SES has a similar Product that may offer this functionality) allows each User to create multiple Custom Lists of who/what they want to see.

Maybe someone else will chime in here but I don't yet see any setting to control this other than the one you mentioned.

Thanks gs. This should be a default feature right? How can an admin remove inappropriate content if admins can't see all the feeds. I actually using SEAO Advanced Activity Feed, but could not see how to do it. I will get SEOA support help me on this. Can you share some steps on how you did yours?

    Thanks

    You're welcome :)

The top screenshot is from the ADMINcp for the Plugin - General Tab, which has various useful settings.

'Content Lists' Tab in the top screenshot corresponds to the section in the 2nd screenshot (Member's Home pg)  where you see 'All Updates Requests Giving ... ' and so on, including the content items in the drop down list.  At the bottom if this list is '+Create A List' which is based on your settings in the 'Custom Lists' Tab of the top screenshot.  This is where the magic really happens because a User may combine dissimilar content into lists based on what makes sense to them.  Immediately above '+Create A List' you can see 3 test custom lists, separated by a light line from the content ADMIN chose in the 'Content Lists' Tab I mentioned at the beg of this paragraph.

This all allows a tremendous amount if flexibility and customization by the User, especially since Friends typically includes different levels and/or types of friends, family, neighbours, coworkers, acquaintances, club or team members, etc.

But your activity feed "feed content" set as "My Friends" right or "All members"? I'm still trying to figure on how the content lists and custom lists work.

    Thanks again.

    Feed Content = All Members

Oh ok. So it still up to the user to create custom list to control the feeds. I'm looking for a way that this can be done in automatic way. Basically users can only see feeds/updates from Friends and Network but Admins can see all the feeds.

    Thank you for quick reply.

I see what you're wanting to do which makes sense, but since I required the ability to display certain content plus liked (almost required) the ability for Users to create Custom Lists, thus setup works fir me and allows the entire feed to be viewed when desired.  Plus (using a setting in the Plugin) the last view a User saves becomes their default so most likely All Members content may never actually be seen by most Users.

But maybe someone will chime in here to explain how to do what you want.

Yeah that can work too. But my other concerns are the mobile app users. Which is the primary device my users uses. I switched from PHPFox and PHPFox has a feature to control it using user level.

    Thanks.

This may have to be a Feature Request if it's determined it can't be done.  If that's the case, it may be quicker (but more expensive) to ask SEAO to perform this ML customization in their Plugin, esp since SE V5 is supposed to be out this year and there's already dozens of FRs built up for years that they haven't addressed yet.

@tambayan: caee to share your gameplan for mobile (i.e. mobile apps or fully responsive theme, etc.)?

Your recommendation seems to be a good workaround and also works on SEAO mobile apps.  I have both iOS and Android mobile apps.

    Thank you very much!

==> '...also works on SEAO mobile apps. ...'

Good to know - thanks.  I haven't yet setup their Mobile Apps, and for now just use the excellent very responsive SES' SpectroMedia Theme in mobile browsers.  Maybe next year after the dust settles on SE V5 and all of the 3PD Products I have become Certified I may finally get around to that.

    You're welcome :)

I have tested this (default SE activity feed, not the third party plugin mentioned) on my site and my local. It works fine for me as super admin user. I can see all posts whether friend or not.

I also tested to post just to a network, by the user who is not a friend of the super admin. I can also see that post as the super admin though I am not in that network. This is something we had fixed a few releases ago because super admin does need to be able to manage the site.

Hope this helps you to figure out the issue on your site.
