Hi, I have ran my website through a couple of gtmetrix speed tests, it suggests defer parsing of javascript. I contacted a company that I have purchased many plugins from for my socialengine.php site and they have told me:
"the SocialEngine code architecture is not supported defer parsing".
I was wondering if this information is correct?
Thank you in advance.
Amanda.
Hello @Amanda,
With the new upgrade of SE 5, there are some speed related improvements which you can see in the GTmetrix . I am attaching screenshots below to show comparison between the older and the newer version of SE:
Older Version:
Latest Version:
The later one is from the RC1 demo http://demo.scripttechs.com/se/ .
With this upgrade we are very close (with 69%) to the average recommended score which is 72%.
Many more improvements are planned for future upgrades.
We can provide more upgrades when final version is released.
If you need any further assistance, please feel free to ask here. We would be glad to assist you.
Regards
Shubhra
That looks awesome! Big improvement in v5.0.0 seen on the ScriptTechs/BryZar demo.
For my Development Socialengine 5.0.0rc1
You didn't post the overall score. You can't just look at one thing on that score. Look below and everything else is an A. Please post the overall score like Shubhra did.
For my Development Socialengine 5.0.0rc1
Does that development site have any third party themes or plugins? The YSlow is lower than on my site. Also, your defer score is lower.
Yes I have all plugins 5.0.0rc1 from SocailEngine only
It could maybe be server related as it's also page speed. I'm not sure. I'll do more tests on my other test site. But you still have a good page speed score of 90%
